Background: Background Nigel was born and raised in the beautiful Cape Flats, to be more specific Portland Mitchells Plain. He matriculated in 1993 from Portland High School. After matric Nigel worked part-time and weekends while being a student to augment his study fees that were paid by his parents.
At a very early-stage Nigel displayed his work ethic while working at Central News Agency, Cavendish Square, CNA and Simba when he had his first taste of work in the private sector. Nigel met his lovely wife Adri while working at Telkom. Together they have two lovely children.

Education:
Education Attended College of Cape Town. In his final term of the N6 he received a bursary from Telkom SA.
Work experience:
After three years of installing phones in Delft, Call Centre in Cape Town and PABX’s in Claremont, he was appointed permanently to the Alarm Monitoring Division in Bellville in 1999.
From alarm motoring and installations, he moved to the Transport (Transmission) Maintenance division in Bellville. Nigel spent 10 years in the service of Telkom, performing duties from fiber optic wiring, testing and plugging up 1G SDH systems.
This includes maintaining these various inter-regional and international systems. In 2010 he completed his CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate). Nigel joined Vodacom in 2010 as a Transmission Specialist. Duties vary from network building, network quality and maintenance that started from your mere 2 Megabit systems and currently 100G backhaul network.
In in layman’s terms, the transport division is the glue that connects all the various masts together and back to Head Quarters. Transporting all data from masts to end servers.
Other interests:
As a side hustle, Nigel and his wife dabble with property and have experienced limited success. They have a few rental properties. Currently they plan to build and sell. For relaxation, Nigel has an expensive hobby in the form of photography. He has a few cameras and lenses. He is Nikon man and did a couple of weddings and other events. He is an avid DIY man and maintain his own properties.
