Richard is a business consultant and specialise in improving corporate governance and business refocussing on profitability and efficiencies. His skills & passion for corporate governance, strategic direction, employee culture, risk management, internal controls and business improvement is practised through his involvement with several small to medium business clients. Recently he assisted SAICA with reform of systems control improvements in the Public Health sector.

Richard served as the chairperson of Economic Cluster of the Western Cape Provincial Government which comprise the Department of Economic Development & Tourism, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning and Agriculture. He is a member of the Audit Committee of the Swellendam Municipality. He chairs the Risk Committee for Co-operative governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in the Northern Cape province.

Richard started as a Financial Accountant at South African Breweries, the Chief Audit Executive of Northwest Development Corporation and City of Cape Town (which included the Forensic Department). He served as a partner of PwC (Gauteng), Gobodo and LDP Incorporated. 

He has been running his own business and knows well when strategy will not be working and when mitigating action or changes in operational activities should take place. His areas of service delivery were mainly in Gauteng and Western Cape. 

Outside his work he has a passion for community work and has been involved in golf development for disadvantaged communities and sits on the board of the Amy Foundation.
